Kia Ora! Welcome to my world.

My name is Kiri Dell and my blog is named Kupumamae or Words from Mamae in recognition of my namesake, Kirimamae. Kirimamae was the wife to the famous Ngati Porou chief Te Rangitawaea who played key roles in our tribal histories.

Mamae is the Maori word for pain/hurt/sadness and alot of my research and personal interests are based on what it feels like to be a Maori. Sometimes its awesome! Sometimes it not. This blog explores the depths of the Maori experience, both good and bad.

I am currently studying with The University of Auckland, with Management and International business. My blogs are mostly opinions, but being a PhD student, I sometimes might throw a bit of theory or research evidence in there.

Pull me up on stuff you don’t agree with, but be constructive about it. Please also be mindful that this is just a blog when commenting, don’t expect me to have covered every single thing and point possible. I write little slices of my experiences.

I also write poetry under the name Keedy Marmye
